Destiny

Isn't it fate biting you in the rear when you escape a leaking toilet spray hose in rented accommodation by moving countries, only to find that the toilet spray hose in the brand new house leaks in exactly the same way?

...which just goes to show that there is no such thing as a perfectly clean bum.

Cosmic comedy.
What a polite term you use-toilet spray hose!!!!

(You know, I wrote a whole post about this gadget and how it inspired me to carry a good old mugga to the USofA. http://dipalitaneja.blogspot.com/2007/10/leaving-on-jet-plane.html

OJ: Oh no. The gadget is fixed and and all bums are clean.

Dipali: It's not my term - it's what the maintenance guy called it when he heard me ummm-ing on the phone to explain my problem!
I will check out your post now!

Are they the same things as hygiene showers?

And I'm glad to hear all bums are clean...

C'est la vie, my friend, c'est la vie avec clean bums :)))

Sue: Yes, hygiene showers I think is the word in politer circles. Though butt-spray may be more expressive.

A Muser: Now THAT is a fact of life if I ever heard one!

When I was trying to buy one I asked for a hygiene faucet( the term I'd seen on boxes of the gizmo in Chennai)and was met with fuddled looks. Then I pointed out the contraption( It was one of those swanky showrooms with bathroom fittings on display) and they told me that I meant a commode shower.

The term that seems most apt is the crudest sounding- bum washer.

woohoohoo such ado about clean bums .I agree with dipali a bum washer is the best handle for the contraption .

Dipali and Eve's Lungs: Okay, henceforth rechristened a bum-washer.
